Been wanting to try this place for a minute. We came on a Sunday afternoon post church for some tasty brunch. We were able to walk in without a reservation and were seated immediately. This restaurant is a converted brownstone, which is apparent by the spacing of the interior. We were seated upstairs which is a bit oddly designed in terms of spacing. There is a small outdoor portion, but wasn't in use at the time of our visits. Our waiter seemed a bit overworked, but he did do his best and was very nice. Atlantic Cod fish fritters: on the bready dense side. I prefer fish fritters that are light and airy. Corn and pumpkin soup: this was DELICIOUS. My fiancé ordered this and I was all up in his bowl going back for more! Tiger Shrimp and grits: the grits are made with coconut milk with coconut shavings, which added extra texture. I nice change to the usual grits at other restaurants. This is a rich dish. Wish there was more shrimp. Jerk chicken and hash: this is on the spicy side. The jerk chicken is well- seasoned. The hash was nicely complimented by the sautéed onions. Steak and Eggs: this was the best entree on the table. Once a again: all up in my fiancé's plate. Lol. The skirt steak was well seasoned and the fried eggs had the perfect run. AND those potatoes though... Rum punch: I really LOVE rum punch. This one did not do it for us at the table. Coconut rum punch: this is the STAR rum punch. Order this one instead of the regular if you love rum punch and want a tasty version. Skip the regular. Would definitely come back for dinner!

The vibe of this place stands out. The food and drinks matched perfectly. The reggae pasta was well seasoned and my preferred level of spice. We also enjoyed the cod fish fritters as an appetizer. The drinks were great and our server was very nice. We sat upstairs in a nook so it felt private for our small group of 3.

Booziest slushy cocktail I've ever had hands down. It was a bit too much for me, I was looking for something light and refreshing but still impressive to cram that much booze in a slushy

Still love it here after all this time HOWEVER The wait staff needs to get it together because why are we being charged extra for don julio shots when what we asked for wasnt what we were provided. (Ordering blanco and receiving 1942 because they were out and the bartender just decided to pour it) Besides that the food is still what it is ... good !! The drinks have gotten weaker I will say . The rum punch wasnt punching and the coconut rum punch just made my stomach ache (too much coconut and not enough alcohol) Still going to remain a customer of this establishment because it hasn't failed me on the food . My first time at Imani did not disappoint. The curry chicken, reggae pasta, cod fritters were so good and full of flavor. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The overall aesthetic and atmosphere was a vibe. I loved the paintings and the dimly lit setting upstairs. They offer brunch here too, so I'll definitely be back to try that menu.

Came here on a Sunday night with a large group. The service was great and the server gave us recommendations on what to get. I got the Chicken from the yard and I thought it was good. Everyone else in my party also enjoyed their meal. It was a little hard to see our food because it was so dark inside. The restaurant is very accommodating which I appreciated!
